Mindfulness Therapy in Fresno, CA | Overcome Anxiety, Stress, and More
Feeling Overwhelmed By Life’s Challenges?
Do you struggle to stay in the present? Instead of enjoying a sense of calm, do you ruminate over past mistakes or worry about challenges yet to come? Are you often uncertain about making decisions or how to proceed with tasks, leading to frustration, anger or withdrawal?
Perhaps it feels like there is too much going on at once, making it difficult to manage it all. Between obligations at home, work or socially, you may become exhausted easily and lose focus. When your stress reaches its breaking point, you might become anxious or depressed.
During these challenging moments, you might self-isolate or become aggravated which can lead to self-sabotaging behavior making you feel even worse.
You May Be Suffering Both Mentally and Physically
Irrational thoughts might flood your mind and lead to compulsive behaviors. While acting on these compulsions doesn’t make sense to you (such as re-checking the door to see if it is locked) you might not be able to stop yourself, Getting stuck in these loops could zap your confidence and create crippling self-doubt, affecting how you interact with others.
Your physical health may also be impacted: a lack of sleep or an unhealthy diet can lead to chronic pain, illness, fatigue and low motivation. When we feel drained and unfocused, it is difficult to maintain close relationships or optimism. When you learn to trust yourself and your instincts, you feel more confidence in your choices, allowing you to cope with life’s stressors more calmly.
Mindfulness-based therapy with me can help you become more emotionally grounded. By improving cognitive function, mindfulness-based therapy encourages a reduction of anxiety and depression symptoms, instilling within you the confidence to make sound decisions.
Many Adults Never Learned Healthy Ways to Manage Stress
Today’s world moves at a never-ending rapid pace. On top of the rigors of our daily grind, many of us deal with additional stressors: work-related issues, relationship conflicts, financial struggles, physical health challenges and family problems.
Not surprisingly, excessive fear and worry over life circumstances can fuel self-doubt, leading to anxiety and depression.
Without proper coping skills to keep up with the overwhelming demands of work and home, it’s easy to become burned out and overwhelmed. Many of us struggle to cope because we don’t feel grounded and centered in our bodies and minds. What’s more, we don’t trust our intuition.
This may be due to a history of trauma: possibly you were brought up in a dysfunctional family where you learned to overreact vs. taking time to respond thoughtfully.
When We Are Preoccupied With Worry, Our Quality of Life Suffers
Many of us become overly anxious about challenges looming in the distance. Rather than counter these worries by seeking solace in activities we cherish, we might retreat, further impacting our mood.
Despite such emotional struggles, we often delay seeking therapy because stress clouds our perception, making it difficult to consider helpful solutions. Making a choice at such times seems daunting.
Also, we might let shame and embarrassment prevent us from proactively seeking help.
Learning to trust your “Wise Mind” can help you become more responsive in managing life’s challenges. Mindfulness strategies can teach you to self-regulate emotions and address the mental and physical symptoms that prevent you from experiencing true wellness.

What To Expect in Therapy Sessions With Me
My first concern will be to ensure you feel comfortable discussing your issues by creating a non-judgmental, empathic environment for us to talk with telehealth: either directly on the phone or through video call. I offer both, depending on what you are comfortable with.
Initially, we will explore your family of origin to identify any past trauma you may have experienced that impacts you currently. Then, throughout therapy, you will learn the mindfulness-based techniques that are effective in managing your anxiety and stress.
Not only will developing a more positive mindset help you navigate problems, but as we establish a rapport, you will open yourself to discuss and process the sensitive issues of most concern to you.
The long-term goals we set will be through a joint decision-making process, based on the coping skills and strategies you are learning in our mindfulness therapy sessions.
As we gain a better understanding of your triggers, we will customize a user-friendly approach to reduce your self-defeating thoughts, self-doubt and indecision.
Mindfulness Therapy Can Help You:
Manage impulsive behaviors and thoughts that can lead to addiction and other self-sabotaging and risky behaviors.
Lessen irrational fears and insecurities that trigger intense anxiety, mood swings and stress.
Learn relaxation techniques to stay centered while decreasing stress boosting a positive mindset.
How Mindfulness-Based Stress Management Can Help
Mindfulness is an evidence-based, holistic approach to therapy that can improve your self-esteem and confidence, reduce stress and help you realize your intrinsic wholeness.
Throughout our counseling sessions, we will use various mindfulness-based centering techniques to help you calm your nerves and restore balance to your body and mind.
Drawing on the mindfulness-based stress reduction interventions developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, we may incorporate meditation or guided visualizations to reduce undesirable physical symptoms related to your stress. [2] Once mastered in our therapy, you will learn how to apply these mindfulness practices to your daily life.
Cultivating trust in yourself and the decisions you make will improve your ability to be respectfully assertive in all situations. With this newfound sense of self, you can maintain a more positive outlook on life that enables you to better manage your day-to-day obligations.
